Bartzokas: «We played a poor offensive game»
Giorgos Bartzokas attributed the defeat in Milan to Olympiacos’ very low scoring.
“Congratulations to Armani for the win. For us, it was a very weird game. We played a very poor offensive game, we missed lay-ups and easy twos close to the post. We missed 13 possessions and at the same time we had very low percentages in threes. We scored 53 points, so, of course we could not have won this game, despite our defense being good. We lead 45-44 with Fall, but we then simply collapsed. We made bad decisions in the offense, missed a lot of lay-ups and all of that had a negative impact on our confidence. Armani took advantage of that and won the game”.
Asked whether Canaan’s ejection after two technicals had an impact on the game, he said: “Yes, his ejection was a problem, because we were also missing Goss and McKissic. So, we are talking about three core guards of our team”.
Finally, he said about Kyle Hines: “I’m a big fan of his. He has my admiration, just like he has the admiration of the whole organization of Olympiacos and our fans. He’s an athlete that no matter where he has played, he has given 100%. Apart from success, he gave his heart for the team. Many congratulations on his achievement”.
