Canaan: «We must stick to our game style»

According to Isaiah Canaan, Olympiacos is ready to ‘finish with the job’ tomorrow (09/05, 20:30 CET) with the help of their fans and secure the ticket to Kaunas.

The American guard, who was among the best of our team in the first and fourth game, will try to do the best he can in the 5th and decisive one. “I’m going to have the same approach. I want to remain aggressive, take all that is given to me. They are doing a good job to not leave me unguarded. So, I’ll have to find the solution. I’ll have to find ways to find open spaces. Also, my teammates are going to be doing a great job ‘finding’ me. So, I must continue being aggressive on both ends of the floor”.

Following a relevant question, he replied about the plan of the Turkish team: “We feel that their plan is to try and force these two players, Walkup and McKissic into one-on-one situations. They try impact our offensive rhythm, so that players like Sasha (Vezenkov) not taking shots and also I not finding open ones. What we need to do is to remain aggressive and not give in to what they are trying to make us do. We must stick to our game style”.

Last year, he watched the heart-stopping series vs Monaco on TV. This year though, he’s going to be among the protagonists. “I watched last year’s 5th game and I wanted to be a part of something so unique as that. Now, I have the chance and I want us to win this game and continue to the Final Four. This is my only concern. Even if it were for only one fan in the stands tomorrow, I would be going out and try to win the game. We definitely are looking forward to seeing our fans, we know they are going to be here to support us and ‘feed’ us with their energy so as to finish the series”.
