Bartzokas: «With the same will, disposition and motivation through the end»

Although indifferent from a ranking point perspective, Olympiacos had wanted and eventually got the win at the OAKA for prestige among other reasons too.

“It was an interesting game”, the coach of the ‘red & whites’, Giorgos Bartzokas commented. “While we were leading the score close to two digit margins almost throughout the game, we had a derby at the end due to some bad decisions we made and some big shots Panathinaikos made. Panathinaikos seemed persistent to fight for the game till the end and they deserve the credit for it. We controlled the game more or less. Let’s be honest, it was a game with no significance ranking wise. We had wanted to allocate minutes and allow for Sloukas to get into rhythm, since he had been out of action. However, the fact that we won is always important and it was also a matter of prestige. Congratulations to my players. I think that now there’s no question about whether we have won home court advantage till the end. We are hopeful that we are going to finish the season with the same will, disposition and motivation”.
