Bartzokas: «We were lacking energy»

For a second game in a row, Olympiacos was lacking energy, according to coach Giorgos Bartzokas. Nevertheless, contrary to what happened in Milan, they were able to leave Rhodes with a win.

“Congratulations to Kolossos. They deserve the credit for playing with energy and will to win for forty minutes. They made it very hard for us and the game was finally decided by one shot and a defense we played at the end so as not to receive a bucket and strike with Vezenkov at the transition. Obviously, the defensive play at 5’’ was also very important, when the game was finally decided. We were lacking energy, lacking athleticism, lacking effort. There is an excuse. We came to Rhodes from Milan at seven in the morning yesterday having played a difficult game against Armani. We have two more difficult games ahead on Tuesday and Thursday. The 14 offensive rebounds Kolossos grabbed are indicative of their disposition to go for every challenged ball, which also shows their energy and will for the game. We fell short on these two aspects for a second game in a row and we have to immediately change that, because we have very demanding games ahead”.
