Bartzokas: «We won easily because we were serious»

His players executed his plan flawlessly, and that’s why Olympiacos’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, appeared to be absolutely satisfied following the win over Promitheas in Patras.

“It was a group performance tonight. We were serious from the beginning of the game up until the score really opened up. If we take out the last four minutes when we stopped playing, we showed the opponent respect. It was one of our difficult missions before the tip-off, because we were playing on the road with Promitheas. We think that there 4 – 5 tricky road games in the Greek League and this one was one of them. I’m satisfied because my players responded to the game plan, to passing the ball more and executing following moving the ball well, because they play with speed. We won the game easily by being serious. Promitheas is a good team, they have proved their level in the Greek League, but mainly in the Eurocup. I wish them good luck with their European game that follows. We now have to focus on our game that is difficult, since we play in Istanbul”.

A victory dedicated..

Our team captain, Kostas Papanikolaou, commented: “It’s a sad day for us. A young child, a young fan of ours, passed away a few days ago and we want to dedicate him our victory. We dedicate it to him and to his family”.
