Bartzokas: "I can’t be complaining about my players"

Olympiacos did not perform as Giorgos Bartzokas had wished they did in the second half of the game against Peristeri, however, he pointed out that he has no complaints from his players.

“I don’t have much to say about the game. I want to congratulate Peristeri, they play with good execution in the offense. They play with speed, they pass well, they have principles in their game. As you can understand, after we scored 62 points in the first half, our mind flew away from any notion of a defensive performance. We did not play well in the second half, we were not serious with our defense, but I cannot be complaining. We are coming from a two game trip and they were both intensive. From the moment we scored 62 points in the first half, the game became only procedural in our players’ heads. Congratulations to Peristeri. We now have the Friday game, which as you can realized is totally different to tonight’s”.

On his part, the coach of Peristeri, Milan Tomic, stressed: “Congratulations to Olympiacos for the win. My team tried tonight, especially in the second half we played better on both ends of the floor. We weren’t able to follow Olympiacos’ rhythm in the first half. For us, this game was important in regard that we gave the opportunity to three teens to play. I think they played very well and that’s important for Greek basketball, giving opportunities to young players. On my part, I will be doing that. The win out of this game is these kids. From there on, we are preparing for the game against Larissa, that is another final for us and we need to win to rank the highest possible in the League”.
