Vezenkov: "The game against Bayern is difficult and demanding"

Sasha Vezenkov was confident that Olympiacos can come back from a Munich with a win, talking in view of tomorrow’s game against Bayern (04/03, 20.45 CET).

“It’s a very difficult game, a demanding one, against a team that is always preparing its games very well”, the ‘reds’ forward pointed out. “They have experienced players and a very good coach. We need to be 100% focused and play very hard. We need to control the tempo, the rebounds and play really strong, according to our plan, so that we can win this demanding game”.

Asked if he thinks that the absence of the international players with the National team and the fact that the German team has not played any Euroleague games during the last month, are going to be elements with an impact on the game, he replied: “I don’t think that at the level we are at, these things can influence us that much. Each player and each team know how to manage these situations. We are only thinking about our team. We want to be 100% ready, both physically and mentally. We have made a good preparation, we are in rhythm, so I think we are ready for this game”.

Finally, on the extension of Moustapha Fall’s contract and the Olympiacos’ policy to prematurely renew with players, he commented: “It’s only certain that the teams that have had success in all sports in recent years, have relied on the same set of players with some small additions. The fact that the team has decided to renew ‘Moosh’ (i.e. Fall), means that they saw something in him, they are really happy as we all are. I’m very happy also for the reason that Moustapha is a very good guy. He deserved this 100%. Congrats”.
