Bartzokas: "We should do the same things we did in the game for the first round"

Olympiacos’ delegation left for Munich, where tomorrow (04/03, 20.45 CET), will be playing against Bayern for the 28th day of the Euroleague.

“More or less we have to do the same things we did in the first round. We had played a good game. We had played with intensity and had targeted correctly according to our plan”, the ‘reds’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas pointed out, when asked what it is his team should be doing in order to return with a win. And he went on to say: “Right now the situation is different in the sense that we don’t really know the state Bayern in in. They haven’t played a Euroleague game for a month. Yesterday they played a game for their national league, however, they have players coming in and out based on injuries. I mean that some are coming back from injuries, like Hilliard, Zipser, while Yaramaz hasn’t played for two weeks now. In general, we don’t know which players we are going to be playing against. But they have a deep roster and they are homogenous and good team. It’s definitely going to be a difficult game”.

About the absence of the international players with the National Team and whether this is going to have an impact on Olympiacos, he replied: “Yes, it will. The conditioning of the players who have played two more games within the same week is different to the rest who have only practiced once. They had different days off. All in all, it’s a situation we cannot comment on. It’s a fact and we need to move ahead with it”.

Finally, when asked to comment on the extension of Moustapha Fall’s contract, he said: “You have some set situations in team sports. The more constant the roster, the bigger the success. It’s not easy to be building a different team each year. Under this prism, Moustapha is a player that has showcased his level, has helped us a lot. If you also take a look at this numbers, when he’s on the floor he has a great impact on our game. I personally am very happy he has renewed”.
