Our Presidents Messrs. Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos met with Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos on Tuesday evening and mutually decided not to renew the collaboration between the two parties.

Following the end of the meeting, both Messrs. Angelopoulos and Mr. Sfairopoulos stated the following.

Statement by Messrs. Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos

Giannis Sfairopoulos led Olympiacos to winning two back to back
Championships (2015, 2016) and twice to the Euroleague Final Four Final in Madrid (2015) and Istanbul (2017) during his four year tenure in the bench of our team.

Four years of collaboration with a man of integrity and an excellent professional who was daily giving his best for Olympiacos.
We have lived through magical and historical moments with the coach that we will never forget.

Coach, thank you for everything and we wish you all the best.

Statement by Mr. Sfairopoulos

The time has come to say goodbye.

The end of each cycle is the spark for a new beginning and new goals.

I feel especially honored to have represented such a great club like Olympiacos of Piraeus. I have done so with dignity and a sense of responsibility.

I would like to thank the Presidents, Messrs. Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos for the honor, their trust, and their cooperation.
I would like to thank all of my associates, the administrative staff and of course all the players, each one of them, for the four years we worked together. We did the best we could at all times; we gave our best till the end of each season.

Finally, I would like to thank the Olympiacos fans and Gate 7 for their love and support.

Olympiacos will always be in my heart. Good luck.
