"Spanoulis is an artist"

A Japanese photographer was frantically taking photos during the Olympiacos – Bamberg game, focusing on one particular player: Vasilis Spanoulis! The reasons were not purely professional… That was anyway evident by the Olympiacos scarf he was wearing around his neck!

Nomura Yoshihiro came to Greece to cover for the “28th Athens International Sailing Week 2018” and did not miss on the opportunity to watch his favorite players up close!

“I really like basketball. I watched with my wife the 2006 Mundobasket in Japan. The Greek National team had beaten the US at the time, they had a very good team! Spanoulis, Papaloukas, Diamantidis… Amazing players!” he said to Olympiacosbc.gr speaking in Greek (!) and then explained the reason for his presence at the SEF : “I’ve come to Athens to work on the Athens International Sailing Week. I’m a photographer. And since I always watch Olympiacos’ games and I’m a big fan of Spanoulis, I came to watch the game. He’s been my favorite player for a long time now! He’s an artist!”.

As for his love for our language, he explained this has nothing to do with basketball : “My wife and I watch ancient tragedy and comedy every summer. So, 11 years ago, we decided to learn Greek. We are still studying the language”.
