Sfairopoulos: "Concentration for 40 minutes"

Olympiacos plays on the road against Laboral Kutxa on Friday (23/10, 20.30 CET) and Giannis Sfairopoulos spoke for the first time about the game against the Basques for the 2nd day of the Euroleague Regular season.

GIANNIS SFAIROPOULOS: "We are starting a series of away Euroleague games, four out of the next five, beginning with the game in Vitoria. We need to remain focused on our plan, we are going to be playing against a team with good game rhythm, an incline for fast paced play on the open court. We are going to have to try and impose our rhythm. This game is a challenge for us, Laboral Kutxa lost its premiere game and they want to win their first game in front of their fans. We need to be ready and focused to play our game. Staying focused for 40 minutes is the key. If you lose your concentration even for 2-3 minutes, they are capable of scoring 15 points. No matter what the score is, they are not going to give up. They can either make a big difference or come back in the game in a very short period of time. We should not allow them such periods. The game against Panathinaikos belongs in the past, we cannot be looking back, only forward. Hunter has been practicing some, will see how he is tonight and will decide whether he plays or not at the last moment".

MATT LOJESKI: "We've been playing against Laboral Kutxa constantly during previous seasons, we know them and they know us. We want to play our game, we are expecting for Othello to join the team, Olympiacos always aims high and we want to win in their home court so as to have the perfect beginning with 2/2. They like to attack, the like fast paced playing, while they can look like they don't shoot well at times, they are anything but easy to play against. We need to remain focused 100%".
