Beginning on the right foot

In the first game for the new season, the European and Greek Champions reached an easy victory 83-50 against Apollo Patron.

With the President of the Club, Mr. Panagiotis Angelopoulos present, Giorgos Bartzokas’ players dominated from the beginning of the game and gradually raised the margin to two digit numbers, where it remained till the end of the friendly game that took place in the gym of the Montana Hotel at Karpenisi.

BARTZOKAS: It was the first game of the season for us, just like it was for Apollo. We wanted to give minutes in a game not suitable for any conclusive criticism, since it was just part of pre-season training on the mountain and that’s how we dealt with it.

* Vangelis Mantzaris did not play for precautionary reasons (quadruple muscle strain).
* Apollo Patron played without Nikos Argyropoulos who suffers a sprain.
* Olympiacos captain Vassilis Spanoulis will not be playing the Friday friendly, since will be traveling to Istanbul to participate in the filming of a Euroleague promotional spot.
