«You have to become the change you wish for»

Giorgos Bartzokas made the following statement following the dissolve of his co-operation with Olympiacos BC.

"There are moments in life when you have to become the change you wish for. And for me, today is one such moment, a little over two years after my collaboration with Olympiacos began.

It has never been a strictly professional relationship. This has also been the main reason for experiencing such intense emotion. As great the joy and pride following great victories had been, disappointment following defeats had been even greater.

The only thing for certain is that I have worked with faith, dedication and mostly the conviction that each one of my decisions was made for the team's benefit. This is anyway the only criterion for anyone who has the honor to serve such a great club like Olympiacos.

I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart, the Angelopoulos family first and foremost for the trust, support and working conditions offered to me, all the players I have worked with for all we succeeded or failed to succeed together, my associates from the technical as well as the administrative staff for the consistency and work ethics and finally our fans who supported us in their own unique way.

I truly believe in the potential of this season's team and its very high standards that can lead it to the success it's entitled.

I wish all the Olympiacos family, the way it is expressed by the Presidents, with the tough but honorable way they have chosen, strength and all the best".
