Sfairopoulos: «It's a tough game but we aim to win».
Our team is hosted on Friday (3/4, 19.00 CET) by CSKA Moscow for the 13th round of the Euroleague TOP-16. Thursday morning, just before the delegation's departure for the Russian capital, the coach of the team, Giannis Sfairopoulos and Ioannis Papapetrou commented on the game against CSKA.
GIANNIS SFAIROPOULOS: "We are going to Moscow to win. We are always playing to win. It's a derby, it's a tough game for both teams. CSKA is a favorite to win, they have an advantage since they play at home. We know them and they know us, we need to remain ready and focused, mentally ready to win. I think we have played good games lately, against Efes, against Laboral where we lost at the details and for the Greek League as well. It's certain that both teams are after the home court advantage, but the important thins is what will happen in the game. CSKA Is very different in comparison to the first game, their roster is even fuller. Kirilenko is playing, Khryapa, Jackson who hadn't played in the first game and Weems as well, who was not ready at first time. We need to do what we have planned to face them.
IOANNIS PAPAPETROU: "We know it's a tough game just like many others we have played in the past. What's important is how we are going to play, that we play according to our coaches' plans. Of course Spanoulis' absence is very important, I cannot say anything more on that. We need to live without him, we all know now that we need to do something more. We shouldn't allow them to find easy baskets, we shouldn't be making mistakes that are going to be brining fast breaks and easy points and we generally need to keep them with a low score".
