Bartzokas: «We don't expect an easy game»
During Olympiacos' departure to Milan, our team's coach, Giorgos Bartzokas talked about Nikola Milutinov's inability to travel with the team and how this changes the plans in view of the game against Armani (26/12, 20:30 CET), but also the characteristics of the game itself.
As the Greek coach pointed out: "It's a lost minute problem, it will definitely require an ajdustment, because Mensah has only had one full practice with the team and hasn't been playing for the past 15 days, so you can understand that we have to overcome some obstacles to remain competitive".
As for whether the new signee, Nathan Mensah, will be getting minutes in tomorrow's game, he said that: "I'm not sure, it depends how the game evolves".
About the game against Armani Milano: "It's going to be a hard game because before losing their last 2 games, they have had a long winning streak and entered the equation for qualifying and they also played very well against Trapani two days ago, they scored a lot and played very good defense, they had a very good third quarter. We are not expecting an easy game. You have to fight, give all you've got, and it also takes a lot of concentration to go up against a Euroleague team on the road, which was obvious in the last 2 games we played".
Williams-Goss: «We must all step up»
On his part, Nigel Williams-Goss said in regard to the upcoming game: "It's going to be definitely hard. I mean, they are a big team with great offensive talent. So, it's always hard to go against a really talented team on the road and get the win. We know we are in for a challenge."
As for the absence of Nikola Milutinov, he said the following: "I think we all must step up. Try harder. And then, I think we must be stay together, especially in defense. You know, we must all be on the same page and let our game start from our defense".
And he then added: "I think it's always disappointing to lose someone, especially a player like Niko or Larry. But as I said before, each one of us must improve their game and try a littile harder".
