Bartzokas: «The quality level of both teams is amazing»

In the post game, following the winning game in Panathinaikos' home court, our team's coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, talked about the quality of the players of both teams and the factors that gave his team the victory. 

"Of course, it was a very good effort and a significant win for us, but I have to talk about something that is very good for Greek basketball. The quality level of both teams throughout the game was amazing. It was an absolutely enjoyable game for anyone to watch. I may sometimes complain about our defensive performance, Panathinaikos got to score many points in the second half, but some of the cooperations, some of the big shots they made, was the result of their players' quality. For us, it was a very good game offensively, we dished 28 assists, we moved well away from the ball, Thomas Walkup helped us a lot with facilitation... We succeeded in winning the game, but as we use to say, it's still early in the season, it was a good win, but the schedule is 'crazy' hard and we have to focus on the next game. Congrats to Panathinaikos and all the best for the upcoming games". 

Asked about the points his team receives in the transition, the Greek coach said: "We won three games in a row for the Euroleague, our opponents are among the best teams in Europe (Real, Barcelona, Panathinaikos), we beat Real by 10, Barcelona by 20 and tonight we were leading the score for 39:45'. If I want to whine, I can find things to dwell on, that's my job, to see the mistakes we've made. In such a demanding job, at least for the night of, we need to be satisfied with the effort the players are putting in the results they produce".
