Bartzokas: «We lost our concentration»

In the Press Conference following the game against Bayern, our team's coach, Giorgos Bartzoks, talked about the factors that led to the defeat.

"It was a tough game, like we expected it to be. Bayern has improved a lot, they showed that mainly against Real Madrid, but also today, when they were trailing by 12 and forced us to lose our concentration. At our level, when you lead by 12 at the beginning of the third quarter, you simply need to minimized turnovers, protect the ball, be patient, get the defensive rebounds and play as a team. We did the exact opposite. We took some shots to finish the game, when Bayern was once again contesting the game making some big shots with some good 3-point shooters. We made turnovers, allowed 50 points in the second half and these were the main reasons that led to the defeat. Congratulations to Bayern, good luck in the following games".

Asked about the atmosphere at the gym: "It was amazing. The gym, the atmosphere, everything was so civilized. In sports terms, I have not complaints about anything. It was a wonderful atmosphere for a good game to be played".

Finally, asked about Carsen Edwards, he said: "I think that right now he's maturing into the European basketball style. He has the talent and the skills to score. Now, the whole team helps him in that direction. Bayern is a tough team to play against, with high tempo, two big players that play facing the rim and that's a good combination for him to show his talents".
