The ‘reds’ crush Promitheas

Olympiacos crushed Promitheas Patras at the SEF 116-73 and made the first step leading to the Stoiximan Basket League finals.

Turnovers and poor perimeter shooting did not allow Olympiacos to set the pace (20-19) during the first eight minutes of the game. However, the changes in the rotation by Giorgos Bartzokas quickly turned the situation around. Kostas Sloukas was both organizing and scoring, Shaquielle McKissic ‘executed’ from the 6.75m. arc, Hassan Martin and Livio Jean-Charles dominated the post and Olympiacos running a partial 25-4 blew up the difference to +22 (45-23) at 17’. From there on, always relying on defense, our team maintained complete control and closed the first half at +21 (53-32).

In the second half, Bartzokas’ players came in full speed. With superb defense and Sasha Vezenkov and Tyler Dorsey opening fire from the perimeter, the difference went up to +45 (84-39 at 28’). It was only natural that the game turned into a mere procedure, but Olympiacos maintained high performance standards. With a lay-up by Giannoulis Larentzakis the 100p. barrier was broken (101-64 at 35’), while the final score was written by Giorgos Printezis.

The quarters: 24-19, 53-32, 89-46, 116-73.
