Swept over Promitheas!

Olympiacos bested Promitheas at Patras 85-66, for the postponed game of the 16th day of the Stoiximan Basket League and is now even closer to mathematically secure top seed in the regular season.

The ‘reds’ began the game full speed. With superb defense and led in offense by Tyler Dorsey and Sasha Vezenkov, they got to build a +23 difference very early on (4-27 at 9’). Bartzokas’ players consistently maintained the distance up to 14’ (16-36), however, they then were at the receiving end of a partial 14-2 run and saw Promitheas closing in to 8p. (30-38 at 18’). They did not allow the hosts to become more threatening though… They put pressure in the backcourt, found solutions in the offense with Shaquielle McKissic and closed the first half at +12 (32-44).

With the return of Vezenkov and Dorsey on the floor, Olympiacos sent the difference even higher (44-61) and was in absolute control throughout of the 3rd quarter (50-67 at 30’). Olympiacos though refused to slow down. With good defense and Shaquielle McKissic executing, the ‘reds’ once again climbed to +22 (57-79 at 38’) and got the win with characteristic ease.

The quarters: 7-27, 32-44, 50-67, 66-85.
