A win over Peristeri and is now getting ready for Barca!

Olympiacos bested Peristeri at the SEF 104-85 for the 19th day of the Stoiximan Basket League and is now training its focus on the Friday home game against Barcelona (01/04, 20.00 CET).

The absence of Kostas Sloukas and Moustapha Fall (both were ill) did not impact the ‘reds’ even in the slightest. With good defense and good perimeter shooting, Olympiacos imposed the tempo from the start (11-4) and closed the first quarter at +12 (31-19). Giorgos Bartzokas – in view of the game against the Catalans – wanted to share minutes, however, everyone who got on the floor did an excellent job… Michalis Lountzis was an impeccable organizer and scorer, Shaquiell McKissic was consistently ‘connected’ to the basket, Quincy Acy was making all of his attempted threes. The result? The difference skyrocketed to 23p. (59-36 at 18’), while Olympiacos closed the first half at +22 (62-40).

Kostas Papanikolaou and Livio Jean-Charles saw that the difference got even bigger (+29, 77-48 at 26’). But Peristeri reacted… Relying on shooting from afar, they closed in 89-69 at 32’, while taking advantage of the turnovers and the bad choices our team was making, they dropped the difference to 18 (96-78 at 36’). But it was as far as it would go… Giannoulis Larentzakis made the score 100-78 with a layup at 38’, and Olympiacos got the final win with characteristic ease (104-85).

The quarters: 31-19, 62-40, 89-65, 104-85.
