Defeated in Monaco

Olympiacos underperformed in the road game against Monaco and lost 72-92 for the 31st day of the Euroleague.

Moustapha Fall dominated the post and the ‘reds’ – despite the hosts’ good perimeter percentages – managed to close the first quarter at +3 (19-22). However, nothing worked for our team later in the game. Turnovers, terrible defense and even worse offensive decisions allowed Monaco – that continued shooting especially well from the perimeter – to send the difference skyrocketing at 14 points (45-26 at 17’). Olympiacos improved his defensive game, but continued shooting very poorly, even from the free throw line (5/11) going at the locker rooms for the first half break trailing by 17 (48-31).

With Fall in a leading role, the ‘reds’ tried to contain the margin (50-40 at 24’), but James stepped on the gas for Monaco and once again sent the difference to +19 (61-42 at 27’). Olympiacos was unable to find rhythm with his offensive game, which the French team efficiently took advantage of, increasing the distance even more (+27p., 88-61 at 37’) and ‘sealed’ the win early on.
