100+ points and a win vs Maroussi

Olympiacos bested Maroussi 106-94 at the Peace & Friendship stadium for the 11th day of the Basket League.

Playing good basketball on both ends of the floor, Olympiacos tried to impose the tempo in the game against Maroussi early on. The Piraeus team got ahead (12-8, 4') with Tyler Dorsey leading the offense with 6 points up to that moment. A three by Sasha Vezenkov a little later and another one by the Greek-American guard upped the margin to two digits (22-12, 7'). Turnovers later on though, gave Maroussi the chance to r5un a partial 2-12, for the 26-27 score with which the first quarter ended. In the second quarter, our team found score from the perimeter - a total of 7 threes - a new protagonist for the offense, Alec Peters, while Williams-Goss and Vildoza were facilitating for Nikola Milutinov (47-37, 16'). The loose 'red & white' defense though allowed Maroussi to stay close to the score (47-42, 18'). In the last two minutes, the intensity level of the defense went up and half-time ended with our team leading by 9 (56-47).

In the third quarter, our team moved the ball better, with Luca Vildoza being the main facilitator (65-55, 23'). Together with Papanikolaou and Walkup, they got to offer a show that excited the fans while the team seemed more focused in defense and expanded its lead (74-58, 25'). The hosts totally controlled the rhytm through their offense, and a three by Alec Peters made for the largest lead of the game (+17, 82-65, 28'). The last quarter began with two back-to-back threes by the guests who shrank the difference (82-75, 31'). Olympiacos continued with exceptional offensive zeal and Giannoulis Larentzakis and Alec Peters offering score (95-87, 35'). Maroussi was finding solutions from the perimeter and stayed close to the score, without though being a substantial threat (95-90, 36'). A 2-pointer and a bonus free throw by Luca Vildoza and a dunk by the Argentinian that followed upped the difference to +10 (104-94, 38'), setting the foundations for the win, with the game ending following an impressive dunk by Fall (106-94).
