Environmental action by ONE TEAM! (pics + vid)

The 'red & white' One Team honored the International Earth Day with actions rather than words!

The coaches and athletes participating the program, visited the volunteers' fire station of Argyropolis and through a series of events they were taught about the importance of environmental consiousness and individual responsibility, while at the same time they got to send their own message to all of us: THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION IS NOW!

Action 1 – Cleaning: They seperated bottle caps from the recycling bins since they are gathered to exchange for a higher pupose, that is the manufacturing of wheel chairs and hearing aids.

Action 2 – Forest protection: The firefighters introduced our athletes to the secrets of their profession and encouraged them to take action, which they did! All participants wore helmets, got a fire extinguisher at hand and learned how to spray water on fire sources.

Action 3 – Tree planting : They planted trees and they also named them, like ONE TEAM, LOVE FOR THE MOUNTAIN, OLYMPIACOS, HOPE etc.
