One Team: Back to back Champions!
For the second year in a row, Olympiacos BC won the title of maybe the most important league: the one of social contribution!
Our team won golden prize as the best One Team program for the 2021-22 season! We had won first place last year also, while two silver awards had preceded in the 2017-18 and 2019-20 seasons.
That was not the only distinction though. Kostas Papanikolaou received the award for the best ONE Team ambassador. The veteran forward is the longest serving ambassador for the Euroleague program, with six years of continuous participation!
The head of the ONE Team program, Penny Jovanovic, with the help of our volunteers – who always make sure to be present and we sincerely thank them for that – has helped the outstanding students of the 1st Special School of St. Demetrious, in terms of their smooth introduction to society, through practice and creative teaching games.
She did not stop there though… Olympiacos BC, in collaboration with OlympiacosBC Official Store, have introduced the “social responsibility products” line, whose sales have contributed to covering the needs of children and vulnerable groups that come from schools and institutions cooperating with the Social Responsibility Program of Olympiacos BC.
“The effort to get better and evolve, so that we can offer the most we can to people that need it, is a daily one”, Penny Jovanovic pointed out. “We are very happy for the award, but we are even happier for being able to make a substantial contribution to our fellow humans. Our athletes’ smiles are the biggest award of all. We are also very happy for the well the social responsibility products were received by the public, which gives us strength, not only to continue, but also to offer financial assistance to social groups that need it. I would like to congratulate all the teams of the program for the great work they’ve been doing. We belong to the big One Team family from day one, which makes us really proud. We are also very proud for the award to our ambassador, Kostas Papanikolaou, whose participation is a heartfelt one for so many years now”.
