McLean: «I am a match to the team's style»

Jamel McLean talked to www.olympiacosbc.gr about the great challenge ahead of him signing with Olympaicos and explained why his style fits the one of the Piraeus team.

The American center completed last Euroleague season with Armani Jeans Milano, averaging 8.7 p.p.g and 4.2 r.p.g. in a total of 30 games. After completing the season, he was waiting to find out where the next stop of his career was going to be, commenting that "I never knew what was going to happen with Armani, I had no news in regard to that. I was waiting to see what my options were going to be and when I found out about Olympiacos, I talked with my brother and very quickly decided to accept. I also talked with some friends of mine who had been to Greece and Olympiacos and they only had good things to say about the team. I practically had only heard positive comments on the team and its program. I thought about it and I have seen it for myself that most of the players that have played for OLympiacos, they have improved on their game when leaving".   

As for him "OK, who doesn't know about Olympiacos and what they have achieved all this time in the Euroleague. I think I am perfect match to the team's style of playing and I had it confirmed after I talked on the phone with coach Sfairopoulos".

The 29-year old center does not want to promise the fans anything. "The only thing I have to say is that the coaches, the players, but also the fans that have been watching European basketball, know my style. As for the people that don't know me, I would like to say that all will be coming obvious on the floor. I hope to help my new team the best I can".
